The so-called "City of Lakes" or the "Venice of the East" is situated in the state of Rajasthan and is considered by many to be one of the most romantic cities in India. Jewel of the Mewar kingdom, which encompassed part of the Aravali Mountains, Udaipur has up to five lakes that contribute to its status as "Venice of the East" thanks to its magical panoramas, only interrupted by ancient palaces converted today into the ultimate definition of luxury and splendour.
